Dear New Chief:

In my capacity as the current NH Association of Chiefs of Police (NHACOP) President, I would like to welcome you to your recently appointed or elected position as Chief of Police, as well as welcome you to our website.  The NHACOP has served as a source of leadership and support for police departments across the state since 1942, and has been instrumental in promoting legislation, education and training programs to support all ranks of NH law enforcement personnel who work hard daily in serving their respective communities with the highest levels of honor, integrity and professionalism.

Collectively, NHACOP members are dedicated to the continued advancement of NH law enforcement and committed to the values and practices encompassed by the six pillars of modern policing: Building Trust & Legitimacy, Policy & Oversight, Technology & Social Media, Community Policing, Training & Education, and Officer Safety & Wellness.

The mission of the NHACOP is to:

  • Enhance professional & personal relationships among agency Command staff.
  • Advocate for the creation of State administrative rules and legislation.
  • Encourage cooperative interactions & professional networking.
  • Assist in elevating professional & police service standards.
  • Uphold the honor & integrity of the law enforcement profession.
  • Offer a system of review & legal support regarding RSA 105 (Police Officers).

Currently, there are over 175 Police Executive NHACOP members; a group comprised of immense knowledge and experience who are tremendous assets with regard to networking and resourcing.  As a result, I highly encourage you to consider becoming a member by completing the fillable application form and sending it to the attention of NHACOP Secretary Chief George Feole at the address listed at the top of the application or via email (GeorgeFeole@derrynh.org).

Once your membership application has been processed and you have been voted in as a new member, our Executive Director Patrick Sullivan will work with you in getting you website log-on credentials so that you may access the “Members Only” area.  As well, the Chair of the Membership & Mentoring Committee will reach out to you to see how best the Association can be of assistance to you as you embark on your Chief of Police career.

Please do not hesitate to contact me should you need anything.  Again, welcome aboard!!

Chief Joseph R. Hoebeke
