Police Chief – Town of Deering, NH 
The Town of Deering, NH is seeking a qualified applicant to fill the position of Chief of Police following the retirement our veteran Police Chief.  Applicants should have at least ten (10) years of active full time sworn Law Enforcement Experience, to include at least five (5) years in a Supervisory Capacity.  A Bachelor Degree in Criminal Justice, Business, Public Administration, or related field is recommended. Applicants should be full-time certified Police Officers in New Hampshire or be able to obtain such certifications within six months of hire.  This is a full time Salary-Exempt position in a Department currently budgeted for 120 hours of weekly on-duty law enforcement coverage as well as assigned oncall coverage during non-duty time.  The Chief of Police is expected to be a working Police Chief and will be expected to handle general patrol, investigatory, and all manner of law enforcement duties in addition to his/her administrative and supervisory duties.  Applicants should have certifications and/or experience with Patrol, Investigations, Supervision, Training, Budgeting, Policy Implementation, Grant Writing, Youth Programs (to include Law Enforcement Exploring), Volunteer Services, and other related professional experience.  Applicants should be well versed in community based proactive public safety and law enforcement practices and implementations.  The starting salary range for this position will be $ 65,000 - $ 70,000 annually plus a benefits package, with annual performancebased increases as approved by the Town Administration.  Interested applicants should present a Cover Letter, Resume, Curriculum Vitae, and List of References by December 20th, 2019, addressed to Interim Town Administrator Diane Kendall, Town of Deering, 762 Deering Center Road, Deering, NH 03244.
