Law Enforcement Torch Run (LETR)

LETR is one of the largest fundraising events in New Hampshire each year. The Torch Run consists of 18 legs and covers about 850 miles throughout the state. Law Enforcement Officers are asked to collect donations for the Special Olympics which help get athletes to the Special Olympics Summer Games each year, one of the most attended competitive statewide events in New Hampshire. Other Torch Run events include the Harley-Davidson Raffle, “Serve & Protect” – Fueling Dreams promotion with Irving-Circle K stores, Chiefs Golf Tournament, "Cop on Top", "Tip a Cop" and the winter "Winni Dip"e; into icy water, “freezin for a reason”. As a result of these types of events, Law Enforcement has raised millions of dollars in the 30 plus year history of the Torch Run program.

The funds raised by the Torch Run allow new athletes and local programs to participate without the fees for housing and assessments. Funds are raised by Law Enforcement through donations for participation in the Torch Run, "Winni Dip", "Serve & Protect" – Fueling Dreams promotion and much more!

The Mission of Special Olympics New Hampshire is to provide year-round participation in sports training and athletic competition for individuals with intellectual disabilities by providing athletes with continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, express courage, experience joy and participate in the sharing of talents, skills and friendship with their families, friends, other Special Olympics athletes and the communities.
