&
Law Enforcement Torch Run |
| |
| The chosen charity for the NHACoP is the Law Enforcement Torch Run
to raise funds for NH Special Olympics.
The Mission Statement of The Law Enforcement Torch Run (LETR) is to
provide year round fundraising and public awareness events in support of
Special Olympics New Hampshire.
The Law Enforcement Torch Run
is one of the largest Special Olympics fundraising events in NH. Every
branch of state, municipal, county and federal law enforcement has
participated in the Torch Run. The Law Enforcement community has raised
more than one million dollars in the history of the Torch Run.
In a series of 18 “legs”
members of the law enforcement community run relays that cover more than
850 miles of NH roads. The runners carry the Special Olympics “Flame of
Hope” to the Opening Ceremonies of the Summer Games at the University of
New Hampshire (UNH) in Durham the first weekend in June.

What
The LETR is one of the largest Special Olympics fundraising events in NH.
The Torch Run consists of 18 legs and covers about 850 miles throughout
the state. Law Enforcement are asked to collect donations for the Torch
run at Summer Games, SONH’s most attended competitive statewide events.
Other events that are part of the LETR include the Winter LETRR,
Harley-Davidson Raffle, To Serve & Protect – Fueling Dreams promotion,
Fall Games Torch Run, Chiefs Golf Tournament and the Pick Two out of
Three Raffle. As a result of all these events, the Law Enforcement
