| In 2006 Chief Jose Pequeno of
the Sugar Hill Police Department was activated with his NH National
Guard Unit for deployment to Afghanistan. While on assignment his
HUMVEE was hit by an IED. One member of his squad was killed and
Chief Pequeno suffered a very traumatic brain injury. After many
surgeries and extensive therapy, along constant care from his mother and
sister he is able to breathe on his own and travel. In December,
2012 he travelled back to NH for a reception in Sugar Hill.

and NHACoP Executive Director Anne Dalton. On the right Chief
Garone presents Jose with his Life Membership credentials to the NHACoP,
with Jose's mother, sister and children watching.
